# Drop HAL support?

The Operaton REST API contains support of [HAL (Hypertext Application Language)](https://stateless.co/hal_specification.html). The HAL specification is maintained at [ietf.org](http://ietf.org), but is listed as [expired](https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/all#expired).

Is anyone aware of usages of HAL? If not, I would raise an issue to deprecate it and eventually remove with a major release.
