Gathering resources from itemis

I am trying to attract colleagues from itemis for this project. At itemis we have some free space for education and activities outside of the daily project work. We call it the “4+1 model”. How colleagues use it is up to each individual together with their team lead. Many use it for reading books, doing online trainings, exploring technologies etc.

I have now raised a shoutout to think about using some time to work on Operaton. Two weeks back I gave a talk at our monthly “Vortragsfrühstück” to make aware of the project. Today, I had an open call for interested colleagues. Some joined and are now thinking about contributing. I will help them when they start and guide them through the project and tasks. Likely starting with those “good first issues”. But there was also interest to work on new connectors or the new webapps later.

It will take a bit time, but we can expect to see some contributions in the near future.

That sounds wonderful, thank you for spreading the message!

Do you think there are enough “good first issues” or should we think of some more, to make the first steps easier?

There are enough there ATM to work on.

Great news @kthoms!

At my current startup, backoffice.plus, where I’m a co-founder, we have two engineers primarily focused on developing our frontend application. If the new frontend apps for Operaton were built using Vue.js and possibly Nuxt.js, we’d potentially be able to contribute as well. For this to work, compatibility with our existing frontend stack is crucial so we can effectively share code and collaborate. That’s why I keep asking about the state of the planning for the frontend apps.
