Integration of process data into external monitoring tools

Hi

Is it possible to export process data—such as process variables and the status of individual process steps (i.e., to see whether a step with a specific ID for a given process ID has already been completed)—to an external monitoring tool? If so, is this data actively transmitted via streaming, or does the external tool have to query (poll) it regularly? If streaming, which tools (e.g., Kafka) are supported?

I can imagine several scenarios here:

Let the monitoring tool query the historic process data via REST API
Implement a history event stream which exports all the data / events you would like to read via Kafka
Let the monitoring tool check the historic process instance data in the database (not recommended)

Does one of these approaches look like they fit your usecase?
