Is there an Operaton equivalent of camunda-external-task-client-js?

Hi,

I’m migrating an application from Camunda 7 to Operaton and I’m looking for an Operaton equivalent of the camunda-external-task-client-js.

Is there a JavaScript/Node.js client library recommended for working with External Tasks in Operaton?

For the time being, there is no official adopted version. The recommendation is to fork the plugin and adopt it to your needs. With help of AI this should be almost a no-brainer.

If you have done that and plan to maintain such a plugin, consider to register it to Operaton Hub.

The Operaton team would like to provide an official plugin maintained by the Operaton team, but we cannot afford the resources ATM and concentrate on the engine itself with its core services.

If your company is willing to fund the creation and part of maintenance for such a plugin, please contact the Operaton team here in the forum or on our Slack Channel.

While we do not officially support it, all External Task Clients written for Camunda should still work with Operaton. They use the REST API and we have not modified that. Reports from some of our users were positive on that, so far.
